Who are we?
Founded in 2019, Awareness and Development for Women and Children in Iraq (ADWI) is a dedicated non-governmental organization committed to serving women and children. With our headquarters in Sulaymaniyah, and dedicated teams in Erbil, Rania, and Garmian. We aim to make a lasting impact by raising awareness in the fields of health, social issues, and legal matters through informative seminars, Community work, and capacity training.
At ADWI, our mission is centered around serving and empowering women and children in Iraq. We believe that knowledge is key to creating positive change, and through our seminars, we strive to equip communities with the information they need to lead healthier, more informed lives.
what do we do?
Legal and Social Awareness
In remote regions where access to services is hard to obtain, ADWI is at the forefront of providing legal and social awareness. Through our seminars, we empower communities with the knowledge of their rights and the available resources, fostering a sense of self-reliance and confidence.
Empowerment
We are dedicated to the empowerment of females and children, especially in addressing issues of violence. Our focus is on the implementation of Law No.8 of Combating Domestic Violence of 2011. By promoting awareness and education, we work towards breaking the cycle of violence and creating a safer environment for all.
Nonviolent Conflict Resolutions in Education
ADWI actively promotes nonviolent conflict resolutions in the education sector. By connecting teachers, students, and parents, we aim to build bridges of understanding and collaboration. Our goal is to create a harmonious learning environment that nurtures the growth and development of every child.
Operational Model
ADWI operates on a dynamic system of Mobile Teams. This approach allows us to reach remote areas across the Kurdistan Region, where access to services can be challenging. Our commitment to inclusivity drives us to bring our services directly to those who need them the most.
